Join us for a festive drink and meet our artists and potters. An opportunity to buy one-of-a-kind gifts directly from the artists or from our legendary bargain carpet.
We are also holding our first ever Rochester Square Raffle. Prizes include work donated by RS artists and items from FoodScape Urban Farm and much more.

Open Studio & Christmas Sales 2021
On Saturday 11 December 2021, we celebrated the Christmas season with our annual OPEN DAY & CHRISTMAS SALES with our members and friends.
Some of our artists and members were showing and selling their work together with our regular unclaimed ceramic pots from 50p to £20 to support our educational programme.

RS took part in the Camden New Town Community Festival on Sunday 12 September. Artists from our studio were leading a workshop all day where families and children popped in to make ceramic birds which will be soon installed in some of the trees around Camden Square Play Centre, visible from the street.
On Saturday 4 September RS took part in Open House 2021, launching Foodscape new farming company at Rochester Square gardens and offering a drawing activity for families and children by The Garden Wall project.
Visitors were able to have a guided tour introducing the new farming and writing a letter to our garden using words and drawings.
Rochester Square has been working in partnership with the Royal College of Art since summer 2020 to offer a residency program to students from the RCA Sculpture Department. The project had both practical and technical aims, giving the students the opportunity to use the Rochester Square facilities to develop a project in response to the idea of a sculpture garden.
On June 2021 students, Abigail Burt, Jakob Rava and Alejandro Villa presented and installation of their work at Rochester Square Gardens. We celebrated the end of their residencies with an opening event with friends and visitors together with drinks and pizza cooked in our pizza oven by baker, Laura Bolus.
Open House London 2020 at Rochester Square
In collaboration with Open House 2020 Rochester Square organised an open day of activities and talks together with Architects Climate Action Network (ACAN) and Natural Selection. This was an opportunity to visit and take part of our space.
A reflection booth and a slip casting workshop exploring sustainable architectures and aesthetic rejection took place inside the garden of Rochester Square followed by a panel discussion about The Sculptural Garden with Ben Brace, Landscape for Future; Betty Owoo, Edible Education; Farrokh Aman, Natural Selection; Kat Scott, ACAN & Where the Wild Things Aren’t; Liz Andrew, ecologist and natural historian and Owen Watson, 6A architects.

Open Studio & Christmas Sales
On 7th of December 2020 we organised a Open Day & Christmas Sales at the studio. This was an opportunity to discover and purchase the work of some of our artists, while mulled wine and hot chocolate was served in disclaimed cups and bowls made on our courses. Money raised is going towards workshops and projects with local primary schools.

To culminate and celebrate the 2019 Slade Residency, Rochester Square organised C.L.A.Y Day on Sunday 13th of October 2019, a day full of activities and workshops ran by our Slade students in residency. More info here

Square Meal 2019
On October 2019 RS organised the second edition of Square Meal as part of Frieze 2019 programme. An immersive experience that brings art, craft and food together. For this edition fifteen artists and potters from Rochester Square ceramic studio collaborated to offer the visitors a generous breakfast with tableware specially made for the occasion.

Camden New Town Festival 2019
Ashleigh Fisk was selected from Slade School of Art (UCL) to undertake a 'ceramic research opportunity' at Rochester Square. She will be leading a ceramic communal making at the Camden New Town Community Festival 2019 making flower planters using the coiling technique. This will take place at Camden Square on Sunday 14th July and the planters will be donated to a different communal spaces in the area as the church or the Camden Square Play Centre.

CLAY Talk by FiBRA Platform
On June 2019, Rochester Square hosted an informal talk with cocktails and nibbles as part of a series of events in preparation for FiBRA MEXICO 2019. As the first education led event, we discussed myths, rites and methods of ceramics informing the work of our invited artists.

BODY - SOUND - CLAY 2018
Milan Tarascas was selected from Slade School of Art (UCL) to undertake a 'ceramic research opportunity' at Rochester Square during Spring 2018. He led communal workshops for 3 months, showing participants the process of making their very own ceramic ocarina. Participants were invited to collect their finished instrument on the 23rd of June and be part of BODY-SOUND-CLAY event at Rochester Square, celebrating the coming together of sound and ceramics.
Wind Fruit 2018
Marijke Keyser was selected from Slade School of Art (UCL) to undertake a 'ceramic research opportunity' at Rochester Square. She participated in Camden New Town Community Festival 2018 with a communal bell making workshop on Sunday 14th July. Participants were invited to take part in this installation that was then donated to the Camden Square Play Centre.
Seated exhibition at San Mei Gallery 2018
On 27th June we celebrated the opening of Seated at San Mei Gallery. This was a ceramic exhibition to showcase some of the exciting work by the members of Rochester Square.
